On Thursday, 10/21, at 9:30 AM Eastern, we will be deploying a performance improvement to the videos and playlists APIs. This update is focused around syncing custom thumbnails when thumbnail updates are made to a video or playlist via API. There is no downtime expected during this maintenance period.
As part of this update, there will be a change to the sync process that occurs when updating video or playlist custom thumbnails via API. Once you update the custom thumbnail, it will trigger the sync process and the thumbnail will be updated in 20-30 seconds. This does not require you to make any updates to your process for uploading custom thumbnails, and will be reflected in our documentation. This does not impact custom thumbnail updates made via the admin dashboard.
